Orbitcoin (ORB) is a decentralised, open-source cryptocurrency launched in July 2013 as a fork of Novacoin. It is a hybrid proof-of-work/proof-of-stake coin with a total coin supply of just 3.77 million units. As such, orbitcoins can be both mined (using the NeoScrypt hashing algorithm) and minted (SHA-256) - both methods carry a fixed reward of 1 ORB. Other features of the cryptocurrency include: one-minute combined block target, time warp and "instamining" protection, advanced checkpointing against 51% attacks, and very low transaction fees.
